Sewing and creating have always been a part of who I am, thanks to my grandmother Hazel. I have memories of a young me rummaging through her sewing tins, like they were chests of treasure just waiting to be discovered. Many more memories of me nestled in close to her side as she hand stitched dolls clothes, while teaching me to thread a needle. My love of sewing bloomed.
In 2014 the perfect space became available and I opened Dear Hazel in South Grafton NSW, turning a lifelong passion into a place where handmade, heartfelt pieces come to life. I feel incredibly lucky that I've been able to share my love of creating for so many years with my local community, and now to the wider online community.
Every piece I make is a nod to the women who came before me, the stories we share, and the joy of creating something meaningful from scratch. I’m so glad you’re here.
